My First Whoopies!

Pour 12 whoopies (for 12 whoopies) :
  • 2 gros œufs (big eggs)
  • 80g de farine (flour)
  • 1 sachet de levure chimique (baking powder)
  • 80g de chocolat à pâtisser (baking chocolate)
  • 70g de beurre doux (soft butter)
  • 60g de cassonade (soft brown sugar)
  • Du papier sulfurisé (greaseproof paper)

Pour la crème à la guimauve (for the marshmallow cream) :

  • 120g de marshmallows ou guimauve (marshmallow)
  • 100g de beurre doux ou demi-sel ramolli (soft butter or slightly salted butter)
  • 100g de sucre glace (icing sugar)

Mini-marshmallows pour la déco (small marshmallow for the decoration)

* Tour d'abord préchauffez votre four à 180°.

* First things first, preheat the oven, th. 6

For the whoopies:

In a saucepan, melt the chocolate and the butter together. In a bowl, whip energetically the eggs and the soft brown sugar together. Add the flour and the baking powder. Blend until you obtain something homogeneous.
On a cooking dish, spread out a greaseproof paper and make 24 little well spaced out piles. Put into the oven for 8 to 10min. Leave them to cool.

For the marshmallow cream:

In a bowl, blend together the cut butter and the icing sugar, using a fork. In a saucepan with two table spoons, add the marshmallow and melt them with a whik until you get something homogeneous. Allow it to cool, then add the sugar-butter blend.

Make your whoopies!

On 12 whoopies spread out the marshmallow cream then cover it with the 12 remaining tops. Ornate with tiny coloured marshmallows.

Good to know!

You can use the flour and chocolate which you prefer the best!
You can give a pause to the pastry in your fridge so as for your whoopies to rise up even more!

It was the first time this week that I cooked whoopies and frankly, I'm really pleased with the final result! The only problem I had to face was mainly because I missed a line in the recipe when I did the marshmallow cream, I directly blended the melted marshmallow with the butter-sugar mix and the blend got too liquid, I had to wait for it to cool and add flavour to give it back some consistency. Unfortunately for me, my oven is not really the best thing you can have so as to cook cakes like whoopies, and mines look rather flat than swelled up BUT this is only a visual matter, they were really tasty, terrific
